Monteverdi – Vespro della Beata Vergine

Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 explodes with expressive and spiritual power. A kaleidoscopic compendium of musical styles, this great musical edifice moves between moments of gleaming sonic splendour and sensuous intimacy, rhythmic vitality and sublime austerity.

The singers of Solomon’s Knot delve into the Vespers’ complexities and mysteries, performing by heart and building magical dialogues with the ensemble’s instrumental soloists.
